John Titor: Time Traveler
John Titor is the name used by an anonymous poster, who wrote on various bulletin boards in 2000, claiming to be a Time Traveler from the year 2036.
John Titor claimed that he was in the Military in the year 2036 and had been sent back from the future, with the intetions of travelling to 1975 to retrieve an IBM 5100 computer. (The stop off in 2000 was simply to visit his 3-year-old self). You're probably wondering why? Well, according to John, in the year 2036 a major virus will bug all known technology and send the world back into the agricultural era.
In posts made by the mysterious "John Titor", whose screen name was "TimeTravel_o", he revealed many predictions and events that would take place in the nearby future. These events would occur as early as 2004 and though some were brief with little to no description, many of the claims were extremely detailed and seemed very plausible. His consistency and background information was very convincing to, and for around 4 months John managed to respond to EVERY single question regarding the future.
So. What were some of the predictions you ask?
Well. Lets start in 2001.
2001 - CERN would discover the basis for Time Travel, with the creation of miniature black holes.
2004 - A Civil War would break out in the United States of America due to tensions between races and politics.
2004 - Due to the Civil War, the United States would split up into 5 different regions. These regions are based on religion and politics.
2008 - As of 2008, the Olympics would no longer exist due to the Civil War.
2015 - World War 3 would begin as a result of a continous Civil War. Factors for the war would include country clashes due to overpopulation, border control, and conflict between the Arabs and Jews.
End of the World War - Nuclear War has occured and 3 BILLION people would now be dead, and the world would become more agricultural.
Unspecified date events -
- A 'Space Plane' would over heat and crash.
- Mad Cow disease would once again break out.
Though some, if not all, of these seem far fetched (and also didnt happen), there have been events prior to 2015 that could be very similar to John Titor's predictions. And though some of you will ultimately rule out the possibility of him being a time traveller, he did proclaim that there are infinite worldlines. Different dimensions and paradoxes, and though Earth is the same for both us and them, the events that take place are not.
And this is supported by the fact that in 2004, Proffesor Stephen Hawkin's did release information that other dimensions and wordlines could exist through black holes. And that something like this is not as far-fetched as it may appear.
And lets be honest, to think that we are alone in this entire universe would be naive of us.
So, what ever you believe, that John is infact a time traveller, or has simply watched too many Back to the Future movies, there's no denying time travel could be possible.
Though it's unlikely we'll hear from John again, as he signed off on March 24th, 2001. With one simple message: "Bring a gas can with you when the car dies on the side of the road."
He was never heard of again, and the device he posted the messages from could never be traced.
